    About SeanyBoy

I live near the beach in Carlsbad, I’m a member of surfrider. rockin the creative career in a marketing department for a great American company. I’m the stubborn and romantic-spirited son of a great and funny Irishman who I love and miss. I was an alter-boy for years and thought about being a priest, I was a Marine in an anti-terrorist unit for four years, I spent a year being a hippy because I wanted to change my perspective on life, I’ve been a college teacher, and a space traveler (my 20′s were great and fun years). I make the world go ’round – take the time to get my drink on and get my groove down. Most paths lead to the center. There can never be too much of a good thing. Love is always worth it. Stay golden pony boy!

“May your heart be light and happy,
May your smile be big and wide,
And may your pockets always have
    a coin or two inside!”
    - Cheers.

I’m from southern California and went to private schools my whole life. I was an alterboy. I chose my high school mainly because it was co-ed unlike the rest of the private schools in my area. (high school years without girls just sounds terrible). I enlisted for four years in the Marine Corps where my years in an anti-terrorist unit led to my becoming a MOUT instructor teaching military operations in urban terrain. After an honorable discharge, I spent the next few years seeing the country and enjoying life.

I moved to Carlsbad to take care of family and got a few college degrees in Graphic Communications and digital imaging then became certified as an ACE, an Adobe Certified Expert. I was about to continue down the education path, but was offered a teaching position at a college in north county San Diego where I spent the next several years teaching Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Flash. I also taught and consulted at several other training centers and business teaching condensed design classes for business professionals.

I have worked for design agencies both large and small in a design role and in a consulting role. My experience over the many years has spanned the design spectrum of both print and web. In 2007, I took a position at an in-house marketing department for a great American company, Hunter Industries, in north county San Diego where in addition to doing excellent graphic design work, I implemented a CMS system for project management and wrote a supporting guide for the management of projects in our department; I modernized and added dynamic content techniques to how we build large documents such as owners manuals; I revamped and modernized the translation process for printed materials by implementing a method of mapping content from original Word documents to automatically propagate and fill content into a InDesign document template which accounts for mapping styles and formatting columns and images; and I have recently implemented an amazing digital proofing and review process for a modern and efficient method which savesĀ  time and provides overview, visability and accountability, company-wide – completely innovating how our marketing department handles some 150 projects at any given time. I’m currently managing a massive multimedia project that I’m very excited about. I’m stoked to love what I do every day.

I do great at wherever I focus my energy, but still, I’d rather surf.
